As a boy Morrison would walk to school with his Airedale dog, Duke, who
waited at the local fire station for the boy to get out of school. The firemen
called the pair Big Duke (the dog) and Little Duke (the boy). Little Duke
liked the name, and Marion was known as Duke for the rest of his life.
